Uhudler is a wine that can only be grown in a small area in south-east Austria, close to the Slovenian and Hungarian border. After the time of the phylloxera disaster, these highly resistant vines were grown. When grafting was discovered as a solution to the phylloxera infestation, Uhudler was repeatedly banned. As a result, its mythical reputation grew. Uhudler is character- ized by its fox tone, an intense strawberry aroma. Lisa Bauer, distiller and winemaker with roots in the Uhudler region, emphasizes these typical flavors. The result is an unique red vermouth that gives cocktails its own twist and is great served with tonic or on ice.
